Details:Whether you're a tournament fisherman or just a super keen amateur who demands a high level of performance from your fishing tackle, the aluminium frame Symetre series is well worth investigating. A fast 6.0:1 retrieve makes these reels perfect for spinning up pelagics like tuna, bonito, salmon and tailor, yet they are still suitable for casting lures and baits at bream, flathead, bass and trout. Fluidrive Gears combined with the Floating Shaft system (which supports the spool shaft and reduces friction in the gears), and five A-RB bearings makes these reels a pleasure to use, while the Dyna-Balance system ensures silky-smooth retrieves. Each model features Shimano's titanium-coated Power Roller that all but eliminates line twist, a forged aluminium spool and a spare graphite spool to hold another line class.

I regulary saltwater fish the productive waters here in Auckland in our snapper rich Hauraki Gulf, some say the greatest snapper fishery on the planet and many of us here in NZ agree. As you might have guessed the main target species is snapper, ranging from 1kg right up into the 12kg+ trophey range. I have been having a blast over the last 2 years catching fish using the 2500fi Symetre spinning reel spooled with 4lb PE braid mated up with a 2-5kg 7'shimano backbone 2pc rod. After many, many battles with fast hard fighting fish this little reel pulls up smooth and functional every time after every outing. While this reel has bigger, stronger and more expensive brothers this bulletproof little donkey has paid for its self over on more occasions than I care to remember. At just over $100 the Symetre 2500FI is probably one of the best bang for your dollar spinning reels on the market, boasting 7kg of drag to deal with on solid thumpers and a racey ratio of 6.0:1 to get those plastics etc skittering across the surface for yellowtail and y/f tuna.
