Reviewed on December 2, 2010 by dirk from dallas This reel is so light that no matter what rod you put it on it will not feel quite balanced.... I absolutely love it though. I have a 2500 and 4000. I'm selling my old stradics to upgrade to this one. Rating: Lightweight and smooth Reviewed on April 8, 2010 by Mike from Davie, FL Had the opportunity to fish the new stradic for 12 hours straight. Although the reel looked a bit lower quality to me at first, don't let the look deceive you. The reel when paired with Sufix braid was awesome. I put it to the test on some nice snook and tarpon. I would recommend the upgrade however I don't think it is a must. The old stradics are still some of my favorite. Rating: Very Nice Reviewed on March 14, 2010 by Tom Mannly from NC I recently switched over to shimano gear after being a long time penn user, but change is always good :) The reels are really nice, lightweight and smooth. THe price is more than I wanted to spend, but found a good deal online, so I picked up to. If they make these in bigger models, I wll pick them up. I like having high quality reels on my boat. Rating: Awesome Upgrade! Reviewed on January 24, 2010 by James Larren from Orlando I got this reel at a trade show. I have always been a big stradic fan. They are super smooth, lightweight, and best of all easy to maintain. When fishing the beach and I get sand in the reel, they are easy to take apart and rinse the sand out in less than 2 minutes. I bought the 2500 version and have it paired with a Shimano Crucial 7 foot rod. I usually go with custom rods, but this rod feels custom and a great price. I am using 10lb power pro along with a 20 to 30lb mono leader for most of all the fishing I do. I fish mostly for redfish, snook, and tarpon. The big tarpon will get me most of the time on this setup, but I can handle 40 to 50lbers. Those are the size fish I like anyhow, as I prefer to catch quantity over 1 big one when I'm out light tackle fishing! Overall I give this reel 5 stars and I would recommend all your hardcore fisherman to upgrade your existing stradics for your go to rod. I still have my old stradics on the boat for friends to use and they still are one of the best reels in my opinion! Add your own review |
