Had my riptide less than a year when it quit responding to steering command. called minn kota, they told me to return reciever & remote module, it took almost a month to return new remote with same reciever, didn't solve problem. called back ,they said take it to service center, it's 75 miles away.called to set appt., was told they don't have control boards and are waiting for minn kota to ship them, minn kota says they have them. someone ain't telling the truth.that was 2 months ago. my motor is still down. i will never buy another minn kota motor and will tell my friends to stay as far away from them as possible. We had someone look at it and he said we needed electrical grease because the connection was dry. The next weekend we used it we had no ability to turn the trolling motor. Really tough to fish at Lake Amistad on a windy day with no trolling motor. Trying to get the problem fixed, hopefully Minn Kota stands behind thier product and fixes the trolling motor.
