You want to talk about a fly fisherman's dream? Tuesday was filled with redfish tailing in less than a foot of water in Mosquito Lagoons calm, slick, morning waters. This trip was with two fellow fishing guides to do some scouting for our upcoming charters. We wanted some topwater action right at daylight, and that's excactly what we got. The first 45 minutes tossing High Roller Rip Rollers ans small Skitterwalks got us 5 nice trout up to 26 inches. Not bad, time to find the reds! That was not very difficult with stops to 4 different flats, each with tailing fish every where you looked. I could go on and on about this day, but that would take a book to write!! Our last stop was the best around 11:00 am in still slick calm conditions with once again, tails everywhere. These fish were a bit more spooky, but all were over the slot pushing 10 - 15 pounds. Wish I did have my fly rod with me!

What a great scouting trip, now I can't wait for my upcoming charters the rest of the week!!!
