Fishing Report for Tampa Bay
Finally we are starting to see some consistent weather pattern that let us know that spring is upon us. With the harsh weather we had early in the week the snook have been slow to bite but the end of the week ands weekend they have really started to turn on in the Little Manatee River. I have not been able to find any that are in the slot but this week should be different. Ft Desoto has continued to produce nice trout and there have been some nice schools of reds. Trout have been eating up the artificial gulp shrimp! As for the redfish, they have been very difficult to get to bite. I attribute that to clear water, the fish are easy to see but they can also easily see me! The hot bite has been 30 to 50lb drum. Live shrimp on a 1/8 once jig head or just foul hooking them with a spoon will both work.
