Tampa Bay November Fishing Report
I love this time of year; nice mid 70 degree weather, nice cool mornings followed by perfect mild afternoons and plenty of fish to catch. I always say the fall is the best time of year to be on the water. People always ask me what my favorite thing to catch is and I always say Tarpon. Because I think they are the most exciting fighting fish that swims. They peak in the summer far from this time of year.
When people ask me when my favorite time to fish is I always say the fall. Now it may not be the best time to catch Tarpon but it's one of the best times to catch everything else whether it may be on the flats for Snook, Redfish or Trout or offshore for Kingfish, Mackerel, Grouper, Snapper, Sharks, Tunny, Goliath Grouper or many others. Not only is the fall a great time because the fishing is good, but it definitely is the nicest weather of the year. The humidity is lower, the air feels crisper and it just always seem perfectly comfortable. Another plus is it's by far the quietest time of the year for Florida in general. So many days you feel like you have a lot of the water all to yourself. A lot of the locals are gone hunting and the snow birds are not here yet so the fall is by far the quietest time to be on the water which equal's better fishing.
Tampa fishing charters report at www.captainmatt.com
The fishing still remains very good. My last few charters this past week have been primary inshore. Snook, Redfish and Trout have still been on fire. Some of my better days we have landed 50 or 60 Snook and Redfish combined with all the Trout you want to reel in if you need some extra fish for the cooler.
Offshore the Grouper, Mackerel, and Tunny are making up the bulk of the catch. Kingfish are still around as long as we don't have any strong cold blasts. We still have some good King fishing to come.
Right now I would say the inshore is the hottest ticket, it's been pretty hard to beat...
Well until next time, I hope you have enjoyed the report and if I don't get another report out before Thanksgiving have a great holiday and get out on the water and enjoy our best time of year to be out there.
