Fishing report for the week ending 7/25/2010

The dog days of summer are upon us with high heat indexes and warm water temperatures.

Snook have been best in and around the beaches and passes, redfish are steady the best bet is on the high tides in the mangroves with live shinners or cut bait.

There are plenty of spotted seatrout in grass and sand bottom 3-6ft. Depth with spanish mackerel and small sharks mixed in.

I am seeing a few mangrove snapper around the passes and in the river but not the bigger ones that we have had in the past couple of years.

Shark fishing is at its peak with plenty of small blacktips around the edges of the flats and bigger lemons in the north sound.

I have a couple of Tarpon pictures from June that were sent to me from longtime client Dave Adair.
