Boom!! Lighting was popping all around us! I was a little concerned that we might have to cancel the trip. It was a morning trip and my clients and I were scheduled to leave the dock at 6:00am. The only thing standing in our way of shallow water reds was this lighting storm that proceded to sit over the top of us until 7:30.
The skys finally cleared and at 7:45 we were off to the first spot. I have happy clients once again!
We pull up to our first area, shut the motor off, and begin to assess the situation. There was bait on top, and mullet jumping. I just new there were going to be fish in the area seeing how I caught them there several days before.
I get my client in position to make a perfect cast on several wakes we were seeing 25yds in front of the boat. My client makes a great shot, twitches the Chartruse Mirrodine once, and bam! fish on!! John catches his first ever redfish on the first cast of our trip. It was a nice 24in bronzed beauty!
After that it was fish after fish all morning. We boated 15 nice slot fish and 25 trout. Great job guys!
