The race was full of bass from school size fish to some BIG fish as well. Trips the last couple of days saw limits of bass up to 37",we released numbers fish (half being keeper size). A strong ebb tide had bass huging the bottom so three-way ed sassy shads kept us in the zone. Bass continued to cooperate during the slack while we trolled umbrella tubes. Thats when some of the larger fish were caught. The flood tide saw bass come to the top chasing sand eels and squid. Good numbers of fish were also present around race rock. This is one of the best times of the year to fish for bass because Mr. bluefish is still a couple weeks away!
