I was on the water 3 times last week, all were short days and all were bright sunshine high-pressure days. Two of the times we caught some good numbers for a 4-hour trip catching mainly 2 pound type fish, and the other day we struggled with some inexperienced fisherman.
We fished back water each time early catching fish on top-water and went deeper to the ledges later on with worms, jigs and spinner baits. The biggest fish caught all week came on "Punishers Spinner Bait" ¾ oz. June-bug color with a chartreuse trailer. Most the numbers came on the top-water bite early in the morning.
The top-water bite is definitely picking up and the flipping bite should be very close behind.
I have several open dates in June; I look forward to fishing with you summer time enthusiasts. Come fish the grass it is a great time on the water.
My new "Fishing Tip of the Week is now posted on my web site" www.fishlakeguntersvilleguideservice.com
I am now offering 3-hour top water excursions either early in the morning or late in the evening. Please call for details!
