Took a buddy Steve out fishing who has not been fishing in awhile.

Went to the bait spot and threw a few times and was loaded up with beautiful 4-5 inch whitebait.

So we head out into the bay looking for the bonita that were hammering the bait pods all week. We found loads of bait pods but no bonita and with the tide starting to come in we went to the flats for some reds and snook.

We get there and the water is just starting to flow and we get set up. Within the first few casts I put 2 trout to the boat. Then a large school of mullet are heading at us so I throw some chummers out in their path with the hopes of attracting the redfish out of the mullet.

I tell Steve to throw into the mullet where I chummed because there should be some reds in it. Sure enough as I am digging a bait out Steve's reel starts screaming and its a good red on his light tackle rod. After a short but good fight the hook pulls on him.

Then joking around I tell him a story about the spot we are anchored at on how my friend had about 6 feet of line out and put his rod under his arm to light a cigarette and gets hammered and catches a snook.

Well as if on que as I do a demonstration while telling the story with about 10 feet of line out just as I put the rod under my arm a redfish takes my bait and I get it boat side in short manner and we both start laughing.

Now the storm is coming at us so I tel him a few more casts and we will head back to the ramp to see what the weather was going to do. So I throw out some more chummers. There's a few hits and after a few casts Boom!! I get into a nice snook with some good drag screaming runs and I get her boat side and carefully released.

Now with not much time left I have to get Steve on a snook so I make it rain whitebait to get the action heated and I see a swirl so I tell Steve where to cast but the shot goes a little past so I tell him to reel and 1 second after I tell him to stop Bam!! he is hooked up. He fights the fish great and lands a nice snook and we head for the ramp.
