INSHORE - There is not a lot to report this week with the N.E. winds at 15 to 25mph. This has made it hard to find a place out of the wind. But, I did get reports from anglers that used the Round Island boat ramp and fished a little around that area. They reported that they had a few trout to 3 pounds, jacks, ladyfish and a couple of snapper. They did see a few redfish but got no takers with their live shrimp. The snook fishing in Taylor Creek has been steady when using small jigs or a live mullet. Around the docks along the Ft. Pierce Inlet I am getting reports of snapper, spanish mackerel, bluefish and flounder during the day. And, at night a few slot size snook on the tide change and the bite has been after dark. Most of the snook are being caught on live shrimp.

OFFSHORE - No offshore reports this week due to the sea conditions. Hopefully they will lay down for the weekend.

JUNIOR TEEN ANGLERS - The Junior Teen Anglers held their 2nd from shore fishing tournament last Saturday -- October 13th at Harbor Pointe Park in Ft. Pierce. With 35 Junior Teen's fishing we had all kinds of fish come to the scales. In the 5 to 8 age group 1st place went to Tanner Hess, 2nd was Savannah Ward and 3rd was Hayden Mawhinney. In the 9 to 11 age group 1st place went to Dylora Kohler, 2nd was Robert Williams and 3rd was Ivor Gillings. Biggest fish of the tournament went to Savannah Ward for her 3lb. 14oz. redfish. The next from shore tournament for the Junior Teen Anglers will be held on December 8th. Bio: Capt. Joe has been fishing the waters of the Indian River since he was 6 years old. When his father first took him snook fishing on the old wooden bridges using nothing more than a Calcutta pole, 100 pound mono and a big mullet attached to a 6/0 hook. Capt. Joes first snook wasn't that big, about 10 pounds, but after a 5 minute fight his father helped him flip the snook up onto the bridge and that is when Capt. Joe knew he was hooked on snook fishing. Capt. Joe is a U.S.C.G. licensed Captain as well as a MET registered Captain.
