Had taken the day off to do family things, and Matt was working at the gas dock all day.
Matt got home around 3:30 and asked to go for Bass, did not need to say any more than that. MAde the run to the boat and picked up some clams on the way.
Ran out to my spot in the bay that has been producing in the evening. Had a stiff 20+ East South east wind against the tide, but it was do to switch over.
Set the boat on the hook and put the lines in. Cracked about a dozen clams over the side and Matt's line started screaming, he pulled in a nice 32" Bass. Cracked a few more clams and my line went off, brought in a 31" Bass.
About to reset my lines and noticed the weather building up near Perth Amboy, saw some flashes of lightning.
Told Matt to stow the gear and I pulled the hook, just as I did the servere Thunder Storrm Broadcast came over. Put the coals to the Grady and made it to the dock with a little time to spare. Buttoned the boat up and headed home.
Shame the evening was cut short as it was shaping up to be a banner night, I am sure one the tide changed fully it would have been game on.
Good time on the water with Matt, and that is what it is about
