Lake Elevation- 1067.48 (-3.52 feet)

Surface Temp- 76

Water Clarity- Main lake is clear

Stripers- The Stripers are starting to school up. Early morning flat lines and planner boards are producing some nice fish when pulled over points and humps in the 18–35 foot range. Down lines are also producing in the early morning hours in the same areas. For the last three weeks (sorry for the late report, I have been on the water from sun up till sun down) I have stayed on the lower end of the lake. After the sun gets up, I switch to three down lines and one flat line and concentrate on points with brush around 20–35 feet deep. The umbrella rig is doing well with reports coming from Allen Silver and Mack Farr. They are clipping points and humps with brush in 22-35 foot of water and accelerating over the brush to trigger a strike. Allen and Mack are both using the 3oz nine bait rig and running it 80-100 feet back at 3.0 mph. The baits are running 16-20 feet deep. This bite is lasting all morning and through the early afternoon hours. Most of these fish are from the middle to the mouth of major creeks.

Bass- The Spotted Bass fishing is as good as it gets! We are averaging 25 Spots in a 5-hour trip. There are many ways to catch them. My personal favorite is early morning top water. The Sammy, Chug Bug and Red fin are all producing over main lake points and humps. I have had better results on the Sammy 100 for the last few days. Blue and Chrome seems to be the best color. After they early am bite, the fish are retreating back to brush that is close by. A 3/16oz tungsten weight with a 1/0 hook and a green pumpkin or sand colored finesse worm is hard to beat. Get directly over the brush and drop the worm down on the edge or into the brush. Shake the worm violently and then stop and wait for the famous "tick". If you have children or inexperienced anglers, the spot tail minnow will pull big numbers of fish over the side of the boat.

Crappie- Hopefully, I can get after them soon. I have not had a chance with all of the Striper and Bass fishing. If anyone has some reliable information, I am happy to pass it along with your contact information.
