We are now waiting for the ice to go away after a very good ice fishing season. The ice is starting to break up and we are seeing open water. We now need some above 40's temperatures, sun and wind to finish the job.
Generally, we look forward to getting some early out fishing by mid to late March with mid April being productive with walleye around the reefs off of Kelleys Island. By May the activity picks up with a lot of fishing interest with people anxious to get rid of their cabin fever.
If you are planning to take advantage of some of the best early Walleye fishing in the country, now is the time to make your plans.
Check to make sure ice is gone before leaving for a early trip to our area. If the lake is open you won't be disappointed as long as you dress warm.
