"Little Miss Judy's Believe It or Not!"
Tip Toe Through the Tulips!
Once again my father brings to my mind yet another wonderful memory. As you know my father was an eccentric sort of a fishing guy. He found many strange things to his liking. This falls into one of those "strange kind of things!" Being a real "fishing, hunting, smoking, any body's woman chasing kind of a guy" it's going to be hard to consume as well as understand this one.
My father look forward to every television show that "Tiny Tim" was a guest on. For those that don't know, he was a singer/banjo player of sort. He had one "not so hit record" called "Tip Toe Through the Tulips!" Tiny Tim looked a little ridiculous to say, "the least." He was a big tall kind of person with a big pointed nose, and very long dark wavy hair. My father for some reason loved to watch him on the television. When "Tiny Tim" announced that he was going to get married on live TV it seemed that this was all Daddy could talk about. His now "singing banjo playing" television hero was getting married to a lady called Ms. Vicky. She was good-looking, petite, and to be honest didn't match up with the likes of the not so little "Tiny Tim!"
When the big day came, my father was glued to the television set watching every move that the couple made. She had a long white wedding dress and he wore tails and tucks. There was flowers everywhere that the soon to be married couple walked. I can only assume that they were tulips, but couldn't say for sure. The reason being is that most television this day and time were just "black and white!"
I never really understood daddy's reason for liking much less watching this ridiculous televised affair. However, once I thought about it some things did come to light. According to my father to act like "Tiny Tim" meant he had to be one heck of a man.
To this day I never figured out exactly why Daddy liked him so much. Maybe it was because he wanted to add singing, playing a banjo, growing his hair long, and getting married on television to his already strange list of things that he love to do!
Thanks for Reading My Report!
