The lake is 164.7 ft msl, high pool is 172 ft msl. The water temperature has been gradually falling and is running in the lower to middle 50s with another strong cold front moving in tonight. The north end of the main lake is stained to clear. High winds will stain the very north end of the lake and clearing as you go south. One generator is presently operating three hours per day.
It's the holiday season and here on Toledo Bend, it's Crappie season! We've been waiting for the water to get into the low 50s to bunch up the Crappie and the past week has been what we have been waiting for. Good reports of large stringers and large Crappie coming in all week long. The lake is in great shape and if you get in the right spot, you can load up an ice chest in no time. Work the river channel ledges over cover with shiners or jigs to see what they want. Remember, for December, January and February there is no minimum length with a creel limit of fifty per person and a two- day limit in possession.
The White and Yellow bass are still busting wide open. Slab spoons along the old river channel sand bars are producing well.
A number of baits have been catching the black bass from crank baits to jigs and Carolina Rigs along the river channel shelf and ledges.
If you're looking for that special gift for that special person for Christmas, we have Gift certificates that are good for one year.
