I want to take a minute and make everyone aware of the TOYOTA LAKE FORK CLASSIC that is going to be held here on April the 9th thru the 15th. This is going to be a 1 million dollar pay out tournament for the P.A.A. members only. (Professional Anglers Association.) This will be open to the top 160 anglers on the tour. Toyota will more then likely block every motel room on the lake for that week. If you are planning to be here then I would advise that you book your room now. They are going to have professional entertainment and national T.V. coverage. For more information call the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department or the local marinas.

I will be in Claremore Oklahoma on the 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th. Stop in and say hello. It's a great show.

The recent rains have brought our lake up to about a foot of being at full pool. The grass flats that we were fishing now have 3 ft of new water on top of them. This is going to make for a great spring this year. I had a trip today and we had 9 fish at lunch and only were able to boat two more after lunch. The good new is that they were all three to five pounds with a 7 lb pre-staged female as a kicker. All were caught on a half ounce #48 Red Crawfish Chartreuse belly Rat-L-Trap fished over the grass in 5ft of water. I had a good fish on on a suspending rouge but she pulled off. Slow rolled Terminator Spinner baits fished over the grass is also working. The key today was the wind. We were on a windy flat next to a spawning area. Every fish we caught was next to a stump. Very tight to cover. Main lake points and the mouths of the creeks are all holding fish now. All though our water temps are only in the high 40's to low fifties, these fish are pre staging for the spawn. Glade, Running Creek, Coffee creek, Wolf, Little Caney, Mustang and Birch are all holding fish.

Crappie are on the main lake points. S.R.A., Little boy point, Bryant, Hells point and in front of Wolf, Dale and the mouth of Alligator creeks are all holding Crappie. A Grey with the blue tail or Cinnamon and Blue jig is working well. The Grey Jig seems to be working the best for me. This time of the year you have to keep everything you catch. This time of the year when the water temps drop, I like to add a minnow to the top jig. Seems to be more attractive and will produce well. 40ft to 50ft depths are where they are at now.

Catfish are on baited holes in 30 to 35 foot. The usual baits are working well. Danny Kings punch bait, Liver or Shrimp.

We have a package available for the golfers made available to us thru the Links at Lands End on Lake Fork. Ask about our half day fish and 18 holes of golf. It makes for a great day of fun in the sun.

Don't forget that we have a 24 ft Barge available for Crappie and Catfish group trips. We also have Gift Certificates available for birthdays, anniversary's, or just a gift to someone special. It's a great way to say thanks to your employees!!!

If you are planning a Corporate trip, now is the time to book. It takes some time to get other guides and motel accommodations arranged. We can handle groups up to 50 and more with proper notice. We do have reference's available upon request. What a better way to thank your customers or your employees for their business and help.

Please feel free to call me for any additional info you may need at 1-800-533-7047. These tips will also work on the Lakes in your areas. Thanks for your interest in Lake Fork Guide Services. Be safe and God Bless. Dennis
