What a difference a day makes!!! My clients Dude and Jerry are from

NC they came in to fish with me for 4 days starting last Monday the 18th

of Feb.The first two days we had to deal with 20 + mph winds and rain

it was kinda slow the first two days with a total of 12 fish caught for two

days we had to deal with two different fronts coming through.Dude and Jerry

ask me yesterday afternoon if they could cancel the last day Thursday

the 21st if the fishing didn't pick up today.I told them no problem.

I started this Morning in the same spot we started Monday morning

where we only caught 5 fish to 4 pounds. The first shiner that hit the water

was hit hard on top of the water and Dude had the first fish of the day hooked

after a long fight I was able to lip the 11.4 pound fish. Second fish about 3 minutes

later hit Dudes shiner and he boated and 8 pound fish.We caught a couple

4 and 5 pounders and then I ran to the spot we fished yesterday afternoon

and didn't get a bite.First fish hit Dudes shiner and again after a long fight

I was able to lip a 12.9 pound fish a couple minutes later Dude gets another

monster blow up and he puts a 9 pounder in the boat.Jerry then caught

a 8 1/2 and 8 pounder back to back and lost a fish 10 ft from the boat

that was bigger then the 12.9 Dude had caught a few minutes before.

I know this seem's like a giant fish story as I am still finding it hard to believe

myself.I really don't know the final count of fish these guy's caught today

over 7 pound but I am sure there were 10 or more between 7 and 12.9

The pictures are not that great as these two gentlemen are in there

mid 70's and really did have a very hard time holding these fish up

for the camara.I wanted to get the picture's taken as fast as possible

to get all these fish back in the water to fight another day.

Dude will be getting a replica done of the 11.4 and 12.9.

This just goes to show that if you have hired a guide that has a good

reputation for catching his clients big fish always trust them with all

your heart during your trip on the water with them.I knew these big fish

were in these two spots the past two days but it just took the right conditions

for them to bite.
