Feb started off with a BANG just as Jan did. I had Will from SC out on Feb 1st and we were looking for a Bass over 7 pounds to top Wills personal best.
On our first stop Will was busy as the fish were eating very good but after 8 fish caught the best we could do was a 5 pounder. On our second stop things changed quickly as Will set the hook on a big fish and the fight was on. It took a few minutes before I could get my hands on Will's beautiful new personal best 9 lb Trophy Bass. Towards the end of the day Will also added a second Trophy Bass to his credit weighing 8,4 lbs I had Jill and Cliff from LA out on Jan 30 and 31 and this great couple had a ball catching some very nice fish and Cliff added a fish to his personal best weighing 9 pounds Jill had the best numbers and caught a lot of fish between 5 and 7 lbs. Shiner Fishing with large wild shiners has been the key to a great trip with the cold water temps but as the warm fronts move in artificial fishing can be good also.
I have been guiding in Central Florida for over 32 years and Jan 2013 was the best I have ever seen. My clients caught 23 Trophy Bass between 8 and 11,8 lbs. All fish are weighed on a certified Boga Grip Scale and released to fight another day.
I still have some days open in Feb and March so if your looking for that Trophy Bass of a lifetime give us a call at 800 241 5314
