The cold weather the first part of the week slowed the fishing down as the water temps went from 73 degrees to 62 degrees in two days and a water temp drop like that really stunts the fish in FL This morning the water temp started at 66 degrees and by 12 pm was up to 72 degrees and it made a big difference in how the fish bit. The past two days we have seen very little schooling action and caught most fish on CRig's and shiners But today the fish were busting shad and hitting Topwater baits and Jerkbaits just like they should be doing this time of the year on the St Johns River. My Client today Bill S of Orlando had a great time catching fish up to 9 3/4 pounds. This is the second trip in a month that Bill has caught a 9 3/4 pound fish with me. That one over 10 is coming soon!! This area of the St Johns River Is Only Minutes From Orlando,Disney World and Daytona Beach.
