Last Friday we ran a trip out of the Salty Sol Ramp on Gandy Blvd. Bait was alright but small. Located a good deep water grass reef and when the tide started to go out the the bite turned on. Caught several nice trout to 22 inches, plenty of big mackerel, some around 4 to 5 lbs, and some smaller sharks. Used some of the greenbacks to get the bite going and switched over to a topwater lure for some added excitement.

One of the most durable topwater lures I've used for big mac's and sharks if made from wood and manufactured bythe High Roller Lure Co. The one I like is the 5.5 inch RipRoller and it's easy to use. Just toss it out and slow retrieve it. The mackerel and sharks can't resist it.

Also used a 1/4 oz jighead with a soft plastic jerk bait and caught plenty of trout and a couple of medium flounder.

See ya on the water
