Not sure what some booking agencies are talking about but this is definitely NOT the right time to come down to Puerto Vallarta or Punta de Mita looking for giant tunas or black marlin...
While the fishing is great right now for smaller tunas up to 100#'s and wide open on wahoo and small dorado's the big fish season doesn't start until later in June...
Water temperatures are warming up considerably this last week and the porpoise schools are thick 30 - 50 miles offshore...we had over 20 tunas yesterday off of one porpoise school and the average size was 60#'s...
Wahoo were wide open at the rock two days ago and we scored a quadrple hookup to start the morning off with fish averaging 30#'s...always good to see those speedsters showing up out there...
For those anglers who are looking at a legitimate shot at a trophy yellowfin or grander blue or black marlin consider making a trip down here between June and November...
December through May is an excellent time for variety and action but true trophy fish can not be expected outside of the summer/fall season...some of the best action of the year happens in the late winter and spring...from February through May so there's always something for everyone...
All the best out there and catchem up...
