Salmon fishing was fair this week. The fleet continues to work the area from Mears up to Austin island. Chinooks in the 5-7lb range have been plentiful many days with the odd tide of fish between 10-14lbs. Small spoons like the size 3 Maverick and cookies and creame have been the staples. Some tides have seen needlefish hoochies produce the majority of the better salmon. Florencia is loaded full of squid at the moment so we patiently await the first mature fish to roll on into one of our favorite hunts.

Halibut fishing was slow this week. Weather hampered the fleets efforts on the halibut grounds. A couple 20-30lb halibut were taken an anchor at the barnyard and some chickens (5-15lb halibut) were trolled up on lighthouse bank.
