Fishing report for the week up to 10/28/09 After a strong cold front last week that dropped water temperatures and scattered the huge amounts of bait that were in the bay we are matching high air temp records in the next few days. The wind is either nothing or 20 knots hard to figure out. On tuesday the wind blew south 20 causing the bait to stream out the passes making for some great mackeral fishing, find the birds and the fish will be there. Live shinners, silver spoons or soft baits all work well with these agressive fish. Snook and redfish have been good on the high tides on the flats and around oysterbars, on the low tides look for these fish to fall into the nearest pothole to there highwater spots. With the cooler water temps mangrove snapper have left there inshore spots, I will sure miss them around dinner time. Seatrout have been good in the mixed sand and grass in 3-5 ft. of water, I am starting to see some fish in the 20 inch range. There should be good fishing well into November unless we get several strong fronts back to back. Tight Lines GET OUT AND FISH!
