Downtown Vancouver Salmon Fishing Report

August 27, 2007

Downtown Vancouver Report:

The West Vancouver Coho and Pink Salmon fishery continues to be productive between the mouth of the Cap River down to the Fisheries Research Centre. Most of our action has been off the Pink building in 30 feet of water. White hootchies behind a 24" leader with flasher trolled quickly have worked best. Some days sees us with 6 to 8 fish on the hook while other days sees 2, 3 or 4 on the hook. We had a few WILD Coho in the 12 pound range this past weekend.

The T10 area is producing some larger Chinook Salmon to 30 pounds. Most of these fish have been Fraser River RED Chinook with a few White's mixed in. This a great fishery if the water cooperates. Depths are 25 feet thru 50 feet with 80 to 90 feet working when the shallow depths slow. This fishery should get better as we hit September.

The phone is ringing off the hook as our weather is great as our fishery improves. If you are interested in going fishing drop by our new dock location (we moved about 50 feet!) at the Westin Bayshore Hotel beside the LIFT Bar and Grill or give us a call.

Good luck and tight lines.
