April is always a superb month to target big Bull trout plus Rainbow's and Cutthroat trout on many of the local rivers such as the scenic and wild Squamish river. Salmon fry are on the menu and trout are chasing and stuffing themselves on these silvery treats. We have caught Bull trout to 8 lbs, Rainbow's to 4 lbs and Cutties to 3-4 lbs. Steelhead are also entering the river and hookups have been quite frequent.

Best flies to use are streamers and salmon fry. Us e floating line with sinktips and in shallower water just floating line.

This fly fishery will be a top producer for the rest of April and into May.

After that it's flyfishing on lakes for Rainbow trout, Sturgeon fishing on the Fraser river for big game Sturgeon and fly fishing on the famous upper Pitt river for Big Bull trout in June-July.

BONUS: 25-45 million Fraser river Sockeye expected to return in August-September. Book early and secure the best times.
