I had the day off today but decided to take advantage of the fine weather. 20 degrees, sunny and calm seas. It turned out to be a good decision as the halibut fishing was awesome. Between 7am and 11am I hooked into 11 halibut. I was able to get my limit of 2 halibut fairly quick. Some of the fish may have hit the gear more than once but none the less the action was non-stop. The halibut weighed 45 and 80 lbs. Not bad for a 1 man team. I then decided to fish the noon bite at Beechie Head in East Sooke. I was able to hook into 1 spring at 1pm and it weighed 18 lbs. Lots of feed around should bring in some springs anytime. Give Good Time Dave's Fishing Charters a call to arrange a Vancouver Island Fishing Trip.
