The Sooke Harbour Resort & Marina in Sooke is hosting this first annual team fishing tournament on Sept 3-5th, 2009. A maximum of 75 teams will compete for the top 3 cash prizes of $100,000, $50,000 and $25,000. Register your teams of up to 4 per vessel and your entry includes 3 nights accomodation, meals, banquet tickets, moorage, team jackets/shirts/hats and a chance at many draw and other fish prizes. Info at (www.aalmonclassic.ca) The good news is that 2009 is predicted to dish up better chinook returns than 2008 did. The last 5 years the late summer fishing in Sooke has produced the largest chinook of the season. Look for fish pushing 50 pounds to take the $100,000 grand prize.
