As expected the month of May has brought calm seas and excellent fishing weather to the Caribbean and our Oil Field buddies from Alberta couldn't have picked a better way to spend their"spring break up"

Hats off to my good friend Dale S. and his friend Terry V. for sticking it out and showing their mettle on this trip. The fellas battled a long stretch of boredom, tropical heat, and the last of a severe case of "montezumas revenge" to finally be rewarded with an amazing catch of a 42lb Wahoo the fish hit an articial lure that we were trolling at about 7 knots just as we crossed from a depth of about 300ft. onto a "bank" with a depth of 180ft. As soon as it struck, we knew that we a "trophy" on the other end, and Terry was into the belt and onto the rod before we had a chance to call "fish on!" Terry worked the fish expertly to the boat before it took off on another hard run into the deep. Despite his size and speed, the Wahoo was simply no match for this Alberta boy and in just a few minutes Terry had him on board and into the fish box.

Dale rounded out the afternoon's catch with a pair of Bonitos and a Spanish Mackerel that we picked off while trolling in the same area.

My congratulations to both anglers on a job well done, and thanks for sticking it out and allowing us to get you on the fish.

Hope to see you both back here in the fall. Now that you are warmed up, next time we will get you onto some Tarpon!!
