Fishing is in full swing around Kelleys Island with excellent catches of walleyes and perch being caught when weather permits. The Kelleys Island Ferry is full, with anxious fishermen from all over the country hoping to land the big ones. Walleyes are being taken by trolling and drifting NE of the Island, between Middle Island and North Bass Island and off the reefs North of Kelleys. Limit catches of perch are being taken off the East side of Kelleys off the airport
The predicted warm up for the coming week should improve the fishing as the water gradually begins to warm up. We are looking forward to a great year and the past week has confirmed that our season is up and running with many great catches ahead.
Now is the time to book your charter or hook up your boat and head for Kelleys Island for some great early fishing. You can find lodging information from the "Kelleys Island Chamber of Commerce".
Hope to see you on the Island,
Capt. Park Schafer
