Awesome Walleye fishing has been going on all over the area lately with some choices on where to fish. This week saw the hot bite move up to the Ontario side with easy limit catches happening around the Wagon Wheel reef area off of the west side of Pelee Island. Also, good catches coming in from just west of Fish Point on Pelee. Ohio waters continues to produce easy Walleye fishing in the area off of North Bass Island and off the east and south sides of Kelley's islands. Good catches still coming in from the sister island areas as well but locals need not run that far to the good bite as the fish have been close around the islands all week. The Green / Rattlesnake island area has been good lately as well adding to the hard decision on where you are going to go catch the hot biting walleye!
Perch Jerkin Good!
Yellow Perch fishing has picked up to the "great" category this past week with some easy limit catches of nice sized fish coming in to Channel Grove and all other marinas around the area. Hot areas have been around Kelley's Island, off the SE corner and NW corner of the island in 29-32ft of water. Also the deep water off Gull reef has been good and south of South Bass island in 30ft of water.
White Bass schooling!
Some schools of white bass have been showing up in the Kelley's island area the past couple weeks. Look for the diving gulls and have your spinner, crank bait or jig ready for some furious action. Also, the area just off of Cedar Point at the entrance to Sandusky bay has had some big schools around also. Nice sized fish to small have been in these schools but the fun is LARGE! Some great white bass action is going to be happening for the next few weeks.
Good luck in all of your fishing adventures!
