The best fishing continues to be around the Islands, including west of North Bass, Northwest Reef, and both north and east of Kelleys Island in forty feet of water. Drifters are using worm harnesses with bottom bouncers and casting weapons tipped with crawlers. Most fish are being caught in the 20 to 10 foot range. The May fly hatch is in full swing which often brings the fish up from the bottom to feed.
The majority of the fish being caught are from the 2003 hatch which are 22 to 24 inch fish. They sure fill the cooler and are fun to catch.
