The fishing was great again this past week end if you knew how to get the fish to bite and since I am a fishing guide on Lake erie and I have been doing this for many year's and I know over the year's that right after the fish get done spawining they are not very active and just lay on the bottom and will feed if you put your lure right in front of them, which takes about a 2 to 3 oz. bottom bouncer and some guides use up to a 6 oz. bouncer. I then tie a 3 to 4 ft. leader to the bouncer with some red bead's and my favorite spinner blade is hammered gold in a #3 to #4 size, then I tie two #4 mustad hook's in tandem and tip it with a night crawler and let it right down to the bottom and hag on for some great action with some of those tasty lake erie walleye.
This should be another great fishing year on Lake Erie just like last year because of excellent hatches in 2003 & 2004.
