Guntersville lake bass are coming out of a winter state of mind. Just a few weeks ago water temps dropped into the upper-30's. Then with one weekend of warm weather it soared to 50 degrees.
Today we have 1-2 inches of snow on the ground with highs of only 37 degrees. But all that will change with next week's predicted highs in the low-to-mid 60's all week, starting Monday.
Coupled with a full moon on Friday, February 18 these bass could make a mass migration move towards the lakes shallows. Not to spawn, but to feed and fatten up for the spring season ahead.
Water temperatures could be near 60 degrees by the end of next week! So make plans now to head to Guntersville lake as waters warm and big bass suddenly move into shallow water of less than 5 feet deep!
LURES
Best lures as waters warm in the upper 50's could range from topwaters to lipless lures, suspending jerkbaits, shallow running crankbaits, jig combos, finesse worms, and spinnerbaits!
