Great weather, great fishing and good times! I just love summer fishing. Waking up at the crack of dawn, slippin into a pair of shorts and flip flops, watching the sun come up over the water, and BOOYAH! hooking ito a chrome bright summer run Steelhead! Fishing has been spectacular on the Cowlitz River in Washington once again with multiple hookups a day. Wether it be a relaxing day of backtrolling coonshrimp, or a busy action packed day of sidedrifting eggs and prawns, fishing has been consistant boating 4-6 fish daily. I will gernerally start off fishing near the Blue Creek boat launch also refered to as the (crack pipe) making a few passes through each drift working my way down river. Working the river on each side depending on water levels. If it's high,5-10,000 cfs I like to fish the soft sides of the river. If the river is running below 5,000 I will stay in the deeper runs. Look for fishing to improve throughout the next week or two. See you out on the water.
