Musky fishing remains very good with the low-light periods of morning and evening producing best. Bucktails and surface baits have been working well as have erratically worked rubber baits. Look for areas of cooler water due to current and then fish the structure thoroughly.
The smallmouth bass bite remains red-hot. Surface baits and lipless crankbaits are excellent choices and should be fished around wood or over shallower rocks.
The walleye bite has been slower but nice fish are still being caught by working live bait rigs tipped with nightcrawlers or leeches along deep breaklines or humps; submerged wood has been good on the river.
Channel catfish have been biting through the day and into the nighttime. Fresh cut bait has been working well when presented near the head of deeper holes and pools during the day and adjacent to stump fields in the evening and nighttime.
Tight lines,
