This is a report for Friday and Sat(1-09/1-10)
Friday got out looking at some areas I have not fished this season. The bite was slow to say the least and I think at a couple of the places the fish just are not there yet. Ended the 5 hour solo trip with only 3 keepers and no shorts. All fish came off Muscle 10+ crankbait(fire tiger). I fished from Waterfront up river targeting grass lines in 10-15 feet of water.
Sat.AM- some guys in our bass club had a small "big fish" wildcat out of waterfront fishing from 8-12. Myself and partner for the day Jeff hit the the areas we had caught a couple of good fish in. We tossed bigger baits and jigs working grass lines in 6-12 feet of water looking for the bigger bite. Well we only had a couple of 3 and change fish to show for our efforts in the four hours. We got back to see we were right in tossing back the fish we had seeing Matt with one pushing 5(Not sure exact on the weight) and he took the money. Congrats to him. As far as the fishing goes the guys did well with the conditions we had but it was to be expected with those guys(they are all very strong anglers). Jeff and I had our fish on a Omega 3/4oz jig(black/blue) and one on the Muscle 10+(chart/purple).
All in all not a bad weekend except the cold temps but they will feel like summer compared to the upcoming week. Hope everyone had a great weekend. See you on the water.
God Bless
