Today's trip with Garrett and Mike Boersma couldn't have started out any better. We launched from Gladstone around 6 a.m. and by 8 a.m. the guys had a nice limit of walleye and we started culling. We were drifting with Walleyes Choice floating jig heads and also doing some casting of 1/8 oz. jigs tipped with crawler pieces. We found the fish along a sharp weedline. It was an absolute blast. The bite slowed once the cloud cover left so we then moved to the upper end of the bay and trolled bottom bouncers and crawler harnesses. We found dirty water and the fish were stacked like cordwood. The bite was incredible, however most of the fish were undersized. With all the undersized fish, several keepers released, and the ones we kept...we must have had close to 50 fish today. It was definitely the best bite we've had so far this year. We had a lot of fun today. And I was worried that the cold front and north winds might slow the fishing...boy was I wrong. We only saw three boats on the bay all day. We came in at 2 p.m. and the fish were still biting. Here's a picture and video of today's fish...good luck from all of us in the Bay de Noc area.
