The dolphin bite is off-the-chain in Ft Lauderdale. Dolphin are stacked up in 15-350ft of water, just outside the reef. If you don't find them there, head a little further offshore to the first weedline you find and troll along it. They are stacked up this month. A few small wahoo are biting too. by Andrew Roydhouse
What's Hot Inshore - April 9, 2017
Tarpon are FINALLY starting to bite. It's been a slow off season for tarpon but this past 2 weeks, we're getting into the tarpon on our inshore trips. All our tarpon caught this week have been on goggle eyes and pilchards. Snooks are biting at night, live shrimp works best. Fish near the bridges. by Andrew Roydhouse

Dolphin are starting to bite good in only 100 ft of water. We're catching them trolling and live baiting right over the reef. Sailfish, kingfish and tunas are biting right alongside the dolphin. Wrecks are holding amberjacks, grouper and cobia. Live baits get fewer bites, but bigger bites. by Andrew Roydhouse

Tarpon have been slim to none lately but snooks are biting good. We're catching the snooks fishing around the bridges mostly and some around the docks. Night fishing is best and live shrimp is the best bait. Jack crevales and goliath groupers are hanging around the docks. Tarpon will be here soon. by Andrew Roydhouse
What's Hot Offshore - March 3, 2017
Strong East winds this weekend are getting the dolphin riled up. Fish dolphin in 100-400ft of water this week. Dolphin are mainly 20+ pounders. Lots of small tunas also. Troll small streamline baits for tuna. Wrecks in 200+ ft are holding grouper and amberjacks. Use live baits for a quick bite. by Andrew Roydhouse

Tarpon are beginning to start biting. They always slack off in the winter months but get going again in the Spring. They're just starting to show up now. Snooks are back in season and biting strong. We're catching snook at night very good. Barracudas and jacks are also biting well in the ICW. by Andrew Roydhouse
What's Hot Offshore - February 8, 2017
The wahoo bite has been fantastic this month. We're catching them trolling in 150-250ft of water on the deep baits (planer and wire line). Tunas are biting good on the reefs too. Sailfish action is good whenever there is enough wind for the kites or the weather turns chilly. Feb is a great month. by Andrew Roydhouse
What's Hot Offshore - November 21, 2016
Strange and unusual catches this month with the supermoon and strong tides. Sailfish are biting strong in 120-180ft of water (kite fishing or trolling). Wrecks are holding amberjacks, groupers and big snappers. Dolphin and wahoo biting good anytime we get a strong east wind (usually 150-400ft). by Andrew Roydhouse
What's Hot Inshore - August 11, 2016
Tarpon are biting excellent this week fishing the Ft Lauderdale Intracoastal. We're catching them on live pilchards and goggle eyes or on dead bait kingfish heads. Jacks and cudas are also biting the same method. Snook are biting too, mostly at night. Live shrimp is working best for snook. by Andrew Roydhouse
What's Hot Offshore - August 11, 2016
Dolphin are biting 8-10 miles offshore, very hard to find so plan on investing a lot of time trying to find them. Daytime Swordfish bite has also been good, 15 miles offshore on the 50/50 line. On the reef, bonitos, kingfish and blackfin tuna are biting solid. Troll spoons and strip baits in 100ft. by Andrew Roydhouse
What's Hot Inshore - May 6, 2015
The Tarpon bite is on. Capt. Robert is crushing the tarpon on his inshore fishing trips in Fort Lauderdale. They are biting around the bridges and up&down the intracoastal waterway. Live bait works best but if you can chum them up, chunk bait works too. A few snook and jacks biting as well. by Andrew Roydhouse
What's Hot Offshore - May 6, 2015
Groupers! There is a great grouper bite going on just outside the reef. Red and black groupers have been untouched the past 5 months and now we can catch them. This is one of the top grouper fishing months of the year in Fort Lauderdale. There is a good bite on mahi-mahi and wahoo as well. by Andrew Roydhouse
What's Hot Inshore - August 28, 2014
Tarpon and Snook are biting good in the Intracoastal waterway. Our inshore charters are averaging 1-2 snooks, 1-2 tarpon and some other action on barracuda and jacks. Live baiting pilchards is working the best. Late afternoon bite has been best although early mornings can be good too. Good luck! by Andrew Roydhouse
What's Hot Offshore - August 28, 2014
Bonitos and Kingfish are solid on the reefs this month. Mixed in with them is the occasional blackfin tuna or wahoo. Sailfish are showing up early on the reef, a prelude to a great sailfishing season. Still some dolphin offshore but plan on spending a lot of time trolling to find them. by Andrew Roydhouse
What's Hot Offshore - March 14, 2014
The mahi-mahi are running in Fort Lauderdale. The strong east winds in March bring the mahi-mahi right in on the reef to spawn. These are nice 10-20 pound fish and some bigger, all biting inside 300ft of water. The bite will last only a couple weeks during the strong east winds. Get out there now! by Andrew Roydhouse
What's Hot Offshore - January 5, 2014
Sailfish, dolphin, wahoo and tuna! That's what's biting best off the coast of Ft Lauderdale. Everything is in about 300ft of water, just outside the reef and on the edge of the Gulfstream. Kite fishing is working well as is slow trolling live baits and high speed trolling for wahoo. Good luck! by Andrew Roydhouse
What's Hot Offshore - October 14, 2013
Wahoo are starting to bite up and down the coast. Best bet is trolling at faster speeds in 300+ft of water. October is the month for big wahoos. Sailfish are also beginning to bite good on the reefs and edge of the gulfstream. Best bet for sailfish is kite fishing with live goggle eyes or mullet. by Andrew Roydhouse
What's Hot Offshore - June 13, 2013
Great action on the inside edge of the Gulfstream about 2 miles offshore Ft Lauderdale. Nice color change there and dolphin are beginning to stack up along that edge. Trolling is best to cover ground, but live baiting down the edge gets a better bite. You may catch mahi-mahi, tuna, wahoo, sailfish by Andrew Roydhouse
What's Hot Offshore - May 22, 2013
Great wahoo bite going on today off Fort Lauderdale. The inclement weather actually got the wahoo biting good. A falling barometer is always good for kingfish, wahoo and tuna. Tomorrow the weather should be the same as today so throw out some high speed lures. Good luck. by Andrew Roydhouse
What's Hot Offshore - March 30, 2013
Crazy Bluefish bite going on in Fort Lauderdale RIGHT NOW and it doesn't last for more than a couple days. The Catch MY Drift caught over 100 bluefish on their AM trip today. They are concentrated in 100ft of water, but are also offshore. You can catch all you want drifting or trolling the reef. by Andrew Roydhouse
What's Hot Offshore - March 13, 2013
Groupers, jacks and cobia are biting really good on the wrecks. Action trolling has slowed down for us, so we're making up for it by catching lots of almaco and amber jacks around the 200-300ft local shipwrecks. Big groupers and cobia are also biting on these spots. Today we caught a 50# Warsaw. by Andrew Roydhouse
What's Hot Offshore - June 6, 2012
Shark fishing is going off in Fort Lauderdale. 350ft of water, over the next 2-3 weeks, there should be a great number of hammerhead and other big game sharks. They are migrating north and eating everything in their path. They are concentrated in 350-400ft of water on the top and the bottom. by Andrew Roydhouse
What's Hot Inshore - April 20, 2012
Tarpon are biting throughout the canals and intracoastal waterways of Fort Lauderdale. They are beginning to show up thick around the charter docks, mangrove canals, and right there in Port Everglades inlet. I especially like tarpon fishing at night, right along the rock jedis lining the inlet. by Andrew Roydhouse
What's Hot Offshore - April 20, 2012
Dolphin are everywhere. 200-300 ft of water seems to be the about the best bite on them, but they are scattered in all depths. Best technique is to troll and cover the most territory you can. Tuna, wahoo and a few sailfish are also biting on the edge of the Gulfstream. by Andrew Roydhouse
