Windy, windy, windy...that's the way today's 5 hour trip went. We started out trolling bottom bouncers and harnesses in deeper water, however the water temp. had dropped from the mid 70's all the way down to 58 degrees with this strong north wind we're having. It seems that the deep fish disappeared, so we ended up going to plan B around 9 a.m., and for the next three hours it was pretty consistent action. We went to a weedbed and pitched 1/4 oz. jigs/crawlers again. We landed 21 keepers and several undersized fish as well as a couple northerns that bit us off and we also caught a nice smallmouth. Most fish were again in that 16 to 19 inch range, nice eaters! Boat control was definitley an issue today, we had two 60" drift socks out to slow us down, and we were still moving faster than I wanted to. The fish were aggressive again, many times we would be pulling in a walleye and there would be one or more walleyes swimming with the fish we were fighting. It was lots of fun on a day when we thought we might not get bit at all. Here's a picture of the fish we kept today, good luck from all of us in the Bay de Noc area.
