Saturday morning we were greeted with slick calm water and a steady light to moderate rain. It's days like this I love the top of my T Tower and vinyl windshield and side curtains. Huddled behind the counsel staying dry and warm was a pleasure.

Water temperatures in the lo 50's had Captain Steven headed directly to local canals. The spotted sea trout action started quickly with numerous 12-16" landed the first 30minutes. DOA silver CAL jerk baits on ¼ oz Mission jig heads did the trick.

While locals canals are only 1 or 2 degrees warmer the trout have taken refuge and are feeding. Typically trout hold around pilings but are now in the middle and deepest part of the canals. I finding canals with dead ends holding the most trout.

The action was steady in multiple canals. Around 11 am the clouds broke way leading to a beautiful afternoon. We ran North to the Big Bend power plant outflow area and were treated with some super Bonnet head shark fishing.
