Well I have been too busy to report this season so I thought I'd take this cold march day to enter a recap of last years fishing. The Bass fishing was steady all season accept for about 10 days in Aug. between the 21st and the 30th. It was a little slow during that period with days of only 2-6 fish which is slow for us. We are blessed with very solid days of 10-40 bass depending on the day. If you were planning a trip to the Cape to catch bass I would definitely recommend coming towards the end of June and all of July when we were just smoking them. It's not bad the rest of the year but it was just incredible during that time. Lets get on to the to the tuna fishing which is my favorite. We had are best charter of the season beleive it or not in June. It was the 21st we landed 10 fish and hooked a couple more that got away. The month of July was OK with 1 to 3 fish trips being the norm. Aug. heated up a little but the fish being a bit larger this year seemed to be just a little smarter also. The fish seemed to all be around 57" and weigh in around 90lbs. September was pretty steady with one fish we caught measured 76" it took the guys 8 turns and 6 anglers later to land the 250lb. tuna. Then October rolled around the charters slowed down so I was able to go out giant hunting. I managed to land a couple monsters and loose a few. November was great I managed to land a few more big boys. One fish dressed 890 which means it was well over 1100lbs. I only had my phone to take pictures as my battery on the camera was dead. Cod fishing was good for a couple months but the weather didn't cooperate very much. I only got out 6 times but when I did the fishing was steady. My last trip was towards the end of Jan. The water temp dropped below 38 which ended the fishing. I'll post a couple of pictures if you'd like to see more visit my website at www.bassrivercharters.com. Can't wait to get back at it. See you in the spring, Captain Ray Ransom
