Fishing report for the week ending 12/27/09 Even though Christmas day was warm the days after bringing colder temps and colder water have the fishing slowing at times, you need to learn to fish slower and lower in these conditions to be productive. If you want to do any damage with snook and redfish, the slot fish are always better on the days before the fronts, shrimp or cutbait getting the best results. The exception being the smaller fish that will go for a live shrimp presented slowly. The spanish mackeral- bluefish-seatrout and pompano action has been steady and should stay that way in the next few weeks. Softbaits and live shrimp under a bobber are the best bet in 3-6 ft. of patchy grass bottom. The next few weeks will be good for fishing potholes in shallow flats for trout, redfish and some snook. Tight Lines. Have a Happy and safe New Years.
