On Friday had the Essilor guys for an offshore trip. Southwest at 15-20 made for a rough day, but we made the best of it. King Mackerels, Mahi's, Barracudas, and a Sailfish on the dredge made for a good day.
On Saturday we had a great crowd of deputies for a 3/4 day charter. Unfortunately the trolling was slow for the entire fleet for the day. We tried everything and finally found the bonito and Spanish biting about three miles offshore and salvaged the day.
On Sunday we had a 1/2 day with dads and kids. Knowing the bite has been better early, we headed off the dock at 6:00 for some trolling around the inlet. Glad we left earlier, by 7:00 we had 33 Spanish Mackerels. More and more boats came out the inlet and pushed the fish down, but we stuck it out and ended the morning with 49 Spanish, 3 bluefish, and a bonito.
The weekend weather is not looking great for offshore fishing, but inshore looks good. We have a few days open this week so come fishing.
