Ocean Runner Charters has been loading up on Big Cod and Bull Haddock on the Northwest Corner of Stellwagon Bank on the Western Edge. Fishing is "Great" Jigs are working well with Hot Pink Teasers, and fresh clams are the trick for the big Haddock. There are two school of thought when it comes to fishing these fish. One, some boats are anchoring right on the edge, and depending on how fast the drift is running it may be best to anchor. Plenty of fish have been taken this way. Ocean Runner anchored on Friday and did excellant. My personal favorite is to start in deeper water (250 ft) and drift back to the shallows (90 ft) (if the wind and tide allow) on the edge of the bank. I think you cover more ground and get a better shot a different size fish. The bank is loaded with Sand Eels. There is a lot of Whales and Dolphin to be seen as well. So, book a trip or fish on your own. It will be a fun day on the water. oceanrunnercharter.com
