Miramichi River, New Brunswick - Freshwater Fishing Report
Blackville to Doaktown
With over 25 fish being hooked in the short time and a triple header on at one time, but only 2 of us landed out of 3 fish. My daughter Laura age 7 hooked her 1st Salmon ever on a bomber. Zachery also got his 1st of the season along with 2 more, all on bombers. Rob Strange hooked 5 all on green machines red butt. I hooked 3 all on bombers as well. Anglers at black brook by the mouth of Cains River got into several fish but mostly all on wet flies. We seen several fish very silver looking jumping in the pool some of the 30lb range. With the water still raising a little last night at dark, up about 2 inches. Should get the morning of to a very good start. I will be back with todays report later this evening. As for the fishing this is great news for the fish and the Angler for August. We really needed a good change in the weather to pick things up.
