Florida Keys, Florida - Saltwater Fishing Report
Gulf of Mexico Florida Keys
Chris Johnson

Capt. Chris Johnson and SeaSquared Charters took regular client Don Rodgers to his favorite hunting ground out in far gulf waters, 65 miles from 7 Mile Marina. Their target was mangrove snapper, gag grouper, cobia and permit. They succeeded in catching large mangrove snapper in the 2 to 4-lb. class, a nice 20-lb. cobia and some small gag grouper. They also hooked and released a couple of 200-plus pound goliath grouper. The goliath problem was wide-spread: they stole untold numbers of baits on their way down plus numerous snapper and grouper on their way up.
