Full moon fishing

Let me talk about the full moon and new moon fishing, some anglers have trouble catching game fish both salt and fresh water during these phases.Predatory fish have eyes that will changes quicker than their prey's eyes. This means most gamefish can catch baitfish easily when it is dawn or dusk, dawn and dusk are the best key solar periods to fish.Solar peridos have about three to four solar peridos that are dawn, dusk, and two during the day.Fish and wildlife are influed by full moon and new moon phases, most of the record gamefish are caught at least three days before, and three days after the full moon and new moon. The full moon and new moons gravitational pull creats our negative low tides and higher than normell tides.

When the moon is overhead it creates the highest tides for that day and that also makes fish more willing to eat. Also when the moon is underfoot it creates lower high tides of the day wich makes fish feed better to.What i would do is to get a Solunar Table or a Maori fishing charts these will tell you when the full and new moon will take place and those are the best fishing days remember the best bite will be three days before and three days after .Have you watch the weather channel and when the weather man,or woman talks about "high pressure"or "low pressure"zones moving in they are talking about Barometric Pressure.Gamefish like redfish, snook, trout, tarpon, ect are more active durning low pressure days and less active durning high pressure days it dosent mean you wont catch fish but thay can be more active or less active. So to improve your fishing i would get a tide chart, moon phase calenders, solunar table,or a maori fishing charts.

I find this very true just the other day i caught two grand slams on my boat my nephew caught a 32"snook i caught a 34"snook plus 6 small snook in one day also we got redfish up to 31" and trout up 22" so i find this theory true. Now for your inshore fishing report this weekend was tough during the day because the full moon is here you need to look for the shadows like overhanging mangroves or anything that creats a shadow i usually find them there. But at night you can fish your favorite fishing hole and you can be lucky. The redfish are mixed up some schools are big 20-40 fish and some schools are small 3-6 fish but most of the reds are over the slot size.Use live or dead green backs, pinfish,or mullet to intice these fish into feeding. The snook bite is great at night try trolling the channel at hernando beach with a yo-zuri diving plug with a silver sides and a black back or your favorite lure also i would fish the creeks that are all over the place from Aripeka to Chazz. The trout action is good to fish the shallow grass flats in 2-6 feet of water on spotty bottom use a 1/8 to 1/4oz jig head and any gulp shrimp would work my favorite is a white one or use a D.O.A deadly combo that is a popping cork with three to four feet of 20lb leader tide to a d.o.a shrimp works well.Or live green backs for bait free line with a 2/0 circle hook. The fishing is great right now the water temperature is dropping down into the high 70 to low 80 in some places and the weather is beautiful.
