We decided to try a lake we have never been to last Friday. It's called Lake Deaton in Wildwood florida (Sumter county). It's a very clean lake and full of vegetation. We started out in the morning throwing trap's painted like golden shiner's around isolated patches of pad's and around dock's. Caught 4 decent fish on the trap's before they quit biting. As soon as the sun came out we started throwing Zoom Magnum Speed Worm's and wore them out! We were throwing them to the thickest cover we could find and moving them just enough to keep them on top and keep the tail's flapping. Wasn't my third cast and had a hog at least 7lb's bust that worm way back in the pads. Unfortunetly I was not using braid and she got me hung in the pad's and broke me off. This happened another 4 time's before I decided to tie the speed worm on my flipping stick. (I have 65# braid on it)Third cast with the braid, caught a 7-2 which I was able to get out of the pad's and a 6 lber around isolated pad island's not 20 minute's later. If your willing to give it a try make sure to get rigged up with some heavy braid and don't be scared to fish the thick stuff for some monster bass.......
